2020 Social Distancing Summer Events in Chicago

Despite the current pandemic situation, there are still plenty of safe ways to enjoy your summer. Here at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness, we’ve put together a lineup of summer events in Chicago with something for every member of the family in mind.

Just because there are new health and safety guidelines in place doesn’t mean summer has to get canceled. Now we just have to do things a little differently. All of the following events are designed to satisfy all social distancing requirements but still provide a fun and enjoyable experience for all. Lakeshore Sport & Fitness has plenty of amenities that will accommodate everyone’s fitness and recreational needs. We look forward to seeing you join us for some summer events in Chicago!

Summer Events in Lincoln Park

Fourth of July Bike Parade – Lakeshore Sport & Fitness at Lincoln Park

Saturday, July 4th

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Join LSF to celebrate the 4th of July with a parade of beautifully decorated bikes! You provide the bike – we will provide the decorations, host a parade, and celebrate with food and drink! Each participant will have 30 minutes to decorate his or her bike – we will parade our festive bikes around the block for the neighborhood to see. Once back at LSF, we will have a contest for our most festive bikes! Ice cream and hot dogs will be available for purchase. Free to attend.

Creation Station for Kids – Lakeshore Sport & Fitness at Lincoln Park

July 9th, July 23rd, August 6th, August 20th

Thursdays | 4:00 – 6:00 PM

LSF will provide a craft each week for families to create together – kite-making, suncatchers, flowerpots, and more! Summer treats & adult beverages will be available for purchase each week.

Saturday Playdates – No Parents Required! – Lakeshore Sport & Fitness at Lincoln Park

Starting July 11th through summer

Saturdays | 3:00 – 6:00 PM

Drop your kids off for an afternoon playdate at LSF! Our team of camp counselors will organize group games, crafts, sing songs, enjoy a snack, and more – no parents required! We will keep the kids busy with competitions, time on the playground, and group projects. This is a drop-off program and appropriate for ages 3.5-10 years old. All kids must be potty trained.

One Playdate Per Child Per Month is Included in Family Membership

Date Night on the Great Lawn – Lakeshore Sport & Fitness at Lincoln Park

Saturday, July 11th

6:00 – 9:00 PM

Enjoy a night on our great lawn with a picnic basket built by Chef John & team. Baskets will include cheese and charcuterie, salmon rillette, grilled chicken, tomato & mozzarella salad, fresh baguette and accoutrements. Each basket will also include your choice of a bottle of rose, sauvignon blanc, or pinot noir.

$100 per couple (includes tax and gratuity)

Family Performance on the Rooftop Series – Lakeshore Sport & Fitness at Lincoln Park

July 12 – August 23

Sundays | 11:00 – 2:00 PM

Join LSF for a family-friendly performance on the roof every weekend! We will host a variety of kids’ performances from favorite Chicagoland artists, such as Mr. Dave and Laura Doherty, a bubble show, magicians and more! Lunch will be available at Harvest to follow to make it a true Sunday fun day!

$25 per family

Beers, Bags & Burgers – Lakeshore Sport & Fitness at Lincoln Park

Sunday, July 12th

2:00 – 5:00 PM

Spend an afternoon on our great lawn with your friends playing bags, drinking craft beer, and eating burgers! The ticket price includes beer, burgers and bags.

Summer Paddle In-House Match Play – Lakeshore Sport & Fitness at Lincoln Park

Every Monday, starting July 13th

7:00 – 9:00 PM

Join us on Monday nights for our 6 week in-house league. Includes balls, paddle demos, and match coordination. Beer will be available for purchase during play. We look forward to seeing you out on the courts!

Make a Mess-ter-piece for Kids – Lakeshore Sport & Fitness at Lincoln Park

4:00 – 6:00 PM

Kids will make messy paintings or other various art projects outside – squirt gun art, freeze dance painting, large name murals, and more! Summer treats & adult beverages will be available for purchase each week.

Family Campout on the LSF Roof – Lakeshore Sport & Fitness at Lincoln Park

July 17th & August 7th

6:00 PM Friday – 8:00 AM Saturday (overnight event)

Want to take your family camping, but not quite ready for the true wilderness? Join us on the rooftop for a night of camping, Lakeshore style! Dinner, games, crafts, snacks, swimming, movie, and breakfast are all included. Bring your own tent or rent one of ours. Adult beverages are available for purchase.

$149 for 1 Adult & 1 Child; $25 for Additional Adult; $15 for Additional Child

Lawn Chair Movie Nights – Lakeshore Sport & Fitness at Lincoln Park

July 18th & August 1st

Saturdays | 6:30 – 9:30 PM

Grab your lawn chairs & blankets to join LSF for a movie night in the parking lot! We are showing family favorites for you and friends to watch together while lounging in your lawn chairs. We’ll show Finding Nemo on July 18th and The Incredibles on August 1st. Join us for dinner in Harvest prior to the show or grab a hot dog from our Hot Dog Cart during the show. Food & drink available for purchase.

Amazing Race Family Scavenger Hunt – Lakeshore Sport & Fitness at Lincoln Park

Saturday, July 25th

3:00 – 6:00 PM

Team up with your family to compete in the LSF Amazing Race Event – we will set up a neighborhood-wide scavenger hunt full of obstacles and challenges to complete as quickly as possible! Families will race on foot against other families to complete missions, take pictures, and tackle puzzles throughout Lincoln Park. The top two families who complete all missions the fastest will receive a pizza party at Harvest to follow the event!

Family Rooftop Movie Night – Moana – Lakeshore Sport & Fitness at Illinois Center

Tuesday, July 7th

Join us for a relaxing night with the whole family while we watch Moana on a big screen on the rooftop. Kids and Adult beverages available for purchase. Open to all families in the Lakeshore East neighborhood. Reservations required.
